What is coaching?

Coaching is a personal process of development which is applied in order to help stimulate individual and long-term changes.

This is achieved by means of structured, targeted interaction and the use of relevant tools and techniques.

Coaching helps you in reaching work-related as well as personal goals, and in this way stimulates your personal development. It enables you to obtain in-depth insights which will be useful throughout your life.

Coaching is a method of encouraging personal development, but can also be used to enhance or support other organizational- and/or training-initiatives.

The first session & Course of coaching program

With your personal wishes as a starting point, we will guide you towllyards concrete, measurable changes and results.

Depending on your goals, an average of 5 to 10 coaching sessions will be scheduled, roughly once every 2 to 3 weeks.

During your coaching program you will get to work with your goals by means of coaching conversations, reflection exercises and tasks. In consultation with your coach it’s also possible to take various tests.

GORTcoaching’s coaches apply aspects of coaching such as techniques and methods like motivational interviewing, RET (Rational Effectiveness Training), Mindfulness, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), problem-solving coaching and MMS coaching (Motivation Management Service). Always choose a coach whose approach, target group and speciality you feels suits you.

1. How do I find the right coach?

Firsly, you can have a look at our expat coaches here. Their profiles will give you an impression of their specialty, target group, international experiences and their individual approaches to coachings. Look at their locations or our map to check which coach is closest to you. If you struggle with choosing a coach or there is no expat coach listed near you, please get in touch with us via the chat on our website or our telephone number – 088 7129 300.

2. How do I judge the quality of a coach?

Each coach who is a member of GORTcoaching has completed an extensive psychological or other human sciences study. In addition, every coach has obtained various certifications which reflect on and ensure the quality and skills of a coach. These certifications are only issued after completion of multiple trainings and courses in the field of coaching and guidance. As a result, GORTcoaches consistently receive a grade 8 (out of 10) or higher on our evaluation forms. You can view the qualifications of every coach in their profiles and schedule your free intake with one of our expat coaches.

3. At which location will I be coached?

You can view the map containing the locations of our expat coaches. In the case the there is no expat coach listed in your area, please get in touch with our office at 0881701500 or use our chat on the website.

4. Can I request more than one free intkae?

Yes, that is possible. In an intake you will mainly go over your personal goalds and wishes, and you get to know the coach and his/her approach. Onve you’ve had an intake with a coach and it did not meet your expectations, you can always schedule a second intake with another one of our GORTcoaches.

5. How much time will I be investing in coaching outside of the sessions?

[toggle title=”» “] It depends on the coach how much time you will be investing outside of the coaching sessions. You may be asked to fill in a questionnaire at home or to practice concrete and practical tasks. These taks will always be given in consultation with you, to ensure that these suit your wishes perfectly.

6. How long does the average coaching session take?

A coaching session takes about one to one and a hald hours on average. This depends what you and your coach agree on. It’s also possible to schedule coaching sessions of two hours or half a day.

7. How do I get in touch with my coach?

Because the coaches are often in a session, it’s best to e-mail them – the coach will be able to help you the quickest in this way. Each coach has their own e-mail address: Send your mail to “name of coach”@gortcoaching.nl.

8. What if the coaching program proceeds differently than expected?

When a coaching program doesn’t proceed quite like you expected initially, it’s best to discuss this with your coach. Your coach is always open to your concerns, so don’t hesitate to share this with them! This allows you to explain what you are concerned about, and the coach can respond to this. When this doesn’t lead you to the desired outcome, you can always choose to stop the coaching program. It is then possible to schedule a free intake with a different coach. 9. Can I stop a coaching program?

Yes, you can choose to stop the program at any time. It may be, for instance, that after five sessions you feel you have reached your goals, even though you had agreed on six sessions. In this case it’s good to discuss this with yoru coach. During a coaching program you are free to make your own choices. When a program proceeds differently to your expectations it’s good to discuss with your coach what you’re concerned about specifically, so that a coach has the chance to respond to this. When this doesn’t lead to the desired outcome, you can always choose to stop the program. You are able to schedule another free intake with a different coach.

10. I can't make it to my coaching session. What do I do?

When you’re unable to make it to your session unexpectedly, it’s best to e-mail your coach as soon as possible. In this way you can directly schedule a new appointment with your coach.

3. The exploring, development and use of own capacities in career-related and personal situations.
